Goldfinch

Today started very cold; mid-thirties. Only getting up to the high 50's. Brr. Well, it was in the eighties a couple of days ago. A bunch of goldfinches came by today. There were more on the other feeder.

Strolling Ibis

A few Ibis were strolling through the neighborhood this morning looking for their breakfast meal. We do like them as they aerate the lawn and remove grubs.

The Heron

The Great Blue Heron stopped by yesterday afternoon to see if there were any goldfish left in his feeder. I did have at least one large one in there. Yesterday the heron left without eating. I buy inexpensive goldfish to stock my pond (aka heron feeder).

I did the Backyard Bird Count this past weekend. Robins and Brown-headed Cowbirds showed up for the count. Last year they had been around for a couple of weeks before the count. Ms. Cardinal is around most days with her mate.

Stained Glass Gift

My wonderful neighbor and friend Barry gave us a Christmas gift of a custom piece of stained glass. He allowed me to pick the design and give imput on the glass. A very thoughtful and beautiful gift.

It started out cloudy here for the lunar eclipse but did clear up at the end. I will have to practice lunar shots a lot more so I can shoot better photos in 2010.

Blew out the moon in the cloud picture.
