74 Dangerous
Was pruning the freeze damage including the bougainvilleas. I've had to prune back the one in the front yard after a thunderstorm a few years back, after tropical storm Fay last August and after another freeze. I think that after every pruning that the thorns get longer and meaner. Sometimes I don't even realize I've been jabbed or scratched until I'm cleaning up. Have to use calamine lotion as I have a slight contact allergic reaction to a lot of plants.

Ouch - hope you wore gloves! Love the lighting in this!
Great composition! Very scary looking thorns, the color & lighting really emphasize that.
Even though your composition, color and lighting are swell here, the thorns are not something we want to recon with. A tad bit of advice. You can get a big container of Aloe Vera gel at Wal-Mart in the sunscreen section. It is cheap. Keep it on hand and use lavishly on the punctures or scratches. Will heal almost overnight. And yes, by all means use gloves! :D
Very friendly plants as they are intent that you should stay awhile. As for Iona's Aloe Vera advice mine is Grow the aloe Vera near by we just snap a bit off and apply it to any wound it is marvellous, Erect a glass house it should grow.
Those are nasty looking thorns, I love the light and the red tones make it all the more dangerous looking.
Ow! I hate thorny plants. Great lighting and background. I like the almost monotone effect
Very intense photo! I really like the feel (uncomfortable as it may be!) you produced with the lighting, and a single branch. Makes my skin pucker and say "Ouch!"
Nicely done so simplistic. I too get alergic reactions to scratches and cuts.
Simple and effective. Nice shot.
Very nice! The lighting and color are beautiful and add a lot of drama to the thorny subject.
Beautiful composition and lighting. I agree about the dangerous part, I've been stuck quite a few times by those!
LOL Madelaine
